Unlicensed Eloy Man Guilty of Contracting Without a License

PHOENIX, Ariz., (Nov. 4, 2021) - On Fri., October 29, 2021, Julio Murillo, 50 of Eloy, was found guilty of Contracting Without a License, a Class 1 Misdemeanor, in the Casa Grande Justice Court.

The charge stemmed from a 2020 Arizona Registrar of Contractors’ (AZ ROC) investigation that found Murillo, DBA J's Home Solutions, contracted to install a new tile roof at a Casa Grande home for $10,500. Murillo removed the old roof and nearly completed the project before he stopped showing up to work on the job. He accepted $9,202 before abandoning the project altogether, leading the homeowner to file a complaint with AZ ROC.

Murillo has never been a licensed contractor in the State of Arizona.

AZ ROC investigated one other unlicensed complaint against Murillo in 2020. That complaint was submitted to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for prosecution review.

A sentencing and restitution hearing is scheduled for 2:30 PM on Nov. 29, 2021, in the Casa Grande Justice Court.

AZ ROC reminds Arizonans to always check the license before hiring someone else to work on your home or property by using the free contractor search at  www.roc.az.gov or by giving the Agency a call at 1-877-692-9762.
