October is Careers in the Construction Science Technology Professions Month
The secret is out, Arizona is a wonderful place to live and work. Our state is growing and it needs construction science technology professionals to build houses, roads, hospitals and classrooms. We need professionals who can install and repair air conditioning and heating units, plumbing and electric. Though often overlooked, these professions require knowledge, skills, and experience. They hold immense value and our communities could not function without them. Consider a career in the construction science technology professions today.
By 2023, the United States will be facing a shortage of approximately 1 million construction science technology professionals.
October is annually designated as Careers in the Construction Science Technology Professions Month. This month is dedicated to increasing public awareness and appreciation of construction science technology professionals.
Get Involved
During this month, Arizonans at all levels are asked to help get the word out.
In doing our part, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors encourages Arizonans to consider careers in the construction science technology professions and promotes their role in building Arizona's future.
Parents, talk with youth in your lives and do research with them on the many employment opportunities in the construction science technology professions. Many of these career paths offer high wages and little to no college debt. This is an industry that also offers a path to entrepreneurship for businesses of all sizes.
Schools, employers, and associations, conduct job fairs, panel discussions, and local community events, either virtually or safely in person, to inform students of the opportunities available to them in this industry.
