Unlicensed HVAC Installer Arrested
by Pinal County Sheriff’s Office
PHOENIX, Ariz., (Dec. 12, 2019) – On Mon., Dec. 9, 2019, Joshua Daugherty, 38 of San Tan Valley, was arrested by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant issued by the Maricopa County Superior Court in August 2019.
Daugherty faces the charge of Theft, a Class 3 Felony, after a 2018 Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZ ROC) investigation was submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for prosecution review.
The charge stems from an AZ ROC investigation that found Daugherty contracted to install three air conditioning units in a Mesa home. After accepting $11,000 for the job, he never returned to complete the work and no materials were ever purchased or delivered.
Daugherty previously held a CR-39 Air Conditioning and Refrigeration license (ROC 236157), however, the license expired in 2016 after he failed to submit a renewal application.
The Agency has not received any other unlicensed complaints against Daugherty. Any additional homeowners who may have been victims of Daugherty are encouraged to file complaints at www.roc.az.gov.
