Sedona Police Department Arrests
Wanted Unlicensed Handyman

PHOENIX, Ariz., (Jan. 29, 2020) – On Jan. 27, 2020, at approximately 1:20 PM, the Sedona Police Department arrested Vasile Nagy, 54 of Sedona, at his residence without incident. The arrest was made on a Failure to Appear warrant issued by the Coconino County Superior Court on Nov. 18, 2019.

He was booked into the Coconino County Jail and released just over four hours later.

Nagy DBA Nagy Construction Services LLC, faces the charge of Theft, a Class 3 Felony, after an Arizona Registrar of Contractors investigation found he was paid $17,800 to make home repairs including fixing a roof leak and installing flooring in a newly purchased Sedona home.

The homeowner contacted AZ ROC after discovering that not only was the flooring not installed, but it was never ordered. The roof also appeared to still leak, though Nagy claimed everything had been completed.

AZ ROC reminds home and property owners if hiring someone else to do the work and the entire project, including labor and materials, is over $1,000 or requires a permit by the local municipality, a license is required by Arizona Revised Statute 32-1121. Always visit www.roc.az.gov and use the free contractor search to check the license.
