Unlicensed Casa Grande Plumber
Pleads Guilty to Theft
PHOENIX, Ariz., (Dec. 12, 2019) – On Mon., Dec. 9, 2019, Oscar Rodriguez, 38 of Casa Grande, pleaded guilty to Theft, a Class 6 Felony, in the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Sentencing is set for Feb. 10, 2020 at 8:30 AM in the Maricopa County Superior Court.
The charge stems from an Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZ ROC) investigation that found Rodriguez, DBA Rescue Plumbing and Restoration LLC, represented himself to be a licensed contractor and contracted to re-roof (yes, you read that correctly) a commercial building in Casa Grande for $40,000.
He never started the job after being paid a $10,000 down payment and the property owner was unable to reach him again.
Rodriguez has never been a licensed contractor in Arizona.
AZ ROC commonly receives complaints regarding unlicensed entities exploiting property owners ranging from poor work to complete abandonment. AZ ROC reminds property owners to ask contracting professionals about the status of their license and always check that its the license permitted to perform the work by visiting www.roc.az.gov or giving the agency a call at 602-542-1525.
