Chandler PD Arrests Wanted Unlicensed Man
PHOENIX, Ariz., (April 23, 2018) – On Wednesday, April 11th, at approximately 3:30 PM, the Chandler Police Department arrested Javier Munguia Barron, 40 of Chandler, on two warrants stemming from theft and unlicensed contracting cases investigated by the City of Phoenix Police Department.
Munguia Barron has never been licensed to perform contracting work and has a history of ripping off homeowners in Phoenix and the East Valley.
Munguia Barron is known to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. In fact, since 2005, the state agency has investigated 15 cases involving Munguia Barron. From the investigations, ROC investigators found that Munguia Barron contracted for amounts totaling $105,115 and has been paid $89,415 by property owners for landscaping projects that resulted in incomplete and abandoned work.
Of the cases investigated by AZ ROC, nine were submitted for prosecution with five having been charged and the remaining four awaiting charging. The ROC’s cases are in addition to Phoenix’s two cases, which led to the arrest warrants and his apprehension.
AZ ROC thanks Phoenix Police Department for their investigations and Chandler Police as Munguia Barron was arrested without incident. The arrest occurred near Mesa Community College and he was taken to the Maricopa County 4th Avenue Jail.
Munguia Barron’s initial appearance in court was April 12, 2018. His next appearance is set as Preliminary Hearing scheduled for April 23, 2018 at the Maricopa Superior Court.
