Licenses Summarily Suspended
PHOENIX, Ariz., (October 23, 2018) –On Friday, October 19, 2018, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (AZ ROC) summarily suspended licenses issued to American Home Construction LLC, based out of Mesa, AZ.
AZ ROC received five complaints since June 2018 against American Home Construction LLC. The complaints were submitted by Phoenix, Gilbert, Mesa and Scottsdale homeowners, and each contracted for remodels at their residences, paying between $5,070 to $87,476. The complaints each allege the company abandoned their project, performed poor work, or did not follow safety laws after receiving payment and before completing the work.
The Agency is actively investigating four of the complaints. However, the fifth complaint was dismissed as the work was completed by another contractor before the Agency could investigate and substantiate the allegations. The Agency encourages any other homeowners, who may have contracted-with American Home Construction LLC but did not receive the products and services for which they paid, to file complaints with the agency.
American Home Construction LLC holds two licenses; ROC 314354, a CR-61 Carpentry Remodeling and Repairs license, and ROC 320521, a B-3 General Remodeling and Repair Contractor license. Both have been suspended with the summary suspension.
A hearing regarding the summary suspension has been set with the Office of Administrative Hearings for 9:00 AM on Friday, October 26, 2018.
If the company is unable to remedy issues caused through contracting, the homeowners may be eligible to file claims with the Registrar’s Residential Recovery Fund. The Fund is a form of financial protection provided by licensed Arizona residential contractors to residential homeowners. Claims paid out cover up to $30,000 per property and claimant, up to $200,000 per license.
