COVID-19 - Registrar of Contractors Remains Open for Business - In-Person Services by Appointment Only Read More

The CDC recommends continued physical distancing and in Phase 1 and 2, the ROC Offices will remain open to the public by appointment only. During this time, you should know you can interact with the ROC online and as an Agency, our staff continues to process license applications and changes to licenses and complaints also continue to move through the administrative process. For contact information and additional information related to any process changes at ROC at this time, please visit our Services Related to COVID-19 tab. Though we encourage you to use online services or give us a call at (877) 692-9762 at this time, the Phoenix and Tucson Offices are open to the public by appointment only.

NEW APPLICANT or NEED TO FILE A COMPLAINT?

If you're filing an application for a new license or a complaint to be investigated, please know you can use our online portal. The Online Portal can be accessed from the ONLINE SERVICES tab.

RENEW A LICENSE?

If you need to renew your license, please know you can do so online at HERE.

OTHER CHANGES TO YOUR LICENSE?

If you need to change information related to your license (the qualifying party, address, contact info, bonding information, etc), you are welcome to complete the appropriate form - found on the FORMS page under the Contractor Resources tab - and email it to [email protected]. If there are any fees related to the change, include a contact phone number and the Licensing Department will reach out to you to walk you through the payment process.

Agency is returning license application forms to statutory requirements.

Emptied and consolidated storage rooms resulting in rent savings of $5,200 annually.

Consolidated office supplies into one location and Agency observes a 47 percent decrease in office supplies spending ($11,963 in savings over two years).

Notified contractors of unnecessary dual licenses resulting from 2014 license consolidation that could subsequently be cancelled; cancellations totaled $86,000 in savings.

Agency documenting processes and procedures through each department to increase clarity and consistency.

Recovery Fund claim processing timeframes decreased with average now being resolved within 30 days.

Engaging in territory management to increase awareness of ROC and role we play in protecting consumers; 15,228 individual contacts made since May 2017.

Timely responses to legal citations increased by approximately 8.1 percent during the time period of 10/1/2017 to 3/30/2018 after the Legal Department implemented a process wherein courtesy copies of all documents regularly mailed were also sent electronically, including citations.

New license time reduction to issue.

Reduced license application backlog from 750 to 30.

Complaint investigation timeframes reduced from 120 days for licensed complaints/150 days for unlicensed on average to 28 days.

Return of 68 fees not processed from 2010-2015; $68,000 back to contractors.

Reversed 2014 rulemaking that forced commercial-only/residential-only in to dual license classifications. License holders could save $485 to $335 yearly opting out of dual classifications.
